I Am!
by John Clare

http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/20728The poem "I Am" by John Clare is a poem that explains how the author wants to be in a place where he can be himself. Like in line 17 "Untroubled and untroubled where I Lie" shows that he wants to be himself with out problems. Plus he speaks of how he has done things that other have not done as line 13 says "I long for scenes where man has never trod; A place where woman never smil'd or wept;" shows how he is different from the others in what he does and this relates to our theme "Above and Beyond."

Dreams

The poem "Dreams" is a poem that explains that without dream things would not be the same. In line 2-4 it says " For if dreams die Life is a broken-winged bird That cannot fly."
I think that it is saying that without dreams you would not be the same person that has goals that they want to accomplish, and to not let go of what you really want to do. Like in line 5-8 it says "Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren field Frozen with snow." I kind of tied it to our theme, that is why I did this poem.
